Product Description
Constructed on a rigid, low-resonance cast-polymer frame, the Klipsch two-way KHC-6 in-ceiling loudspeaker delivers a notably robust bass from its 6.5" IMG-cone woofer. Its coaxially mounted 1" aluminum-dome compression driver tweeter is mated to a 100ยบ Klipsch Tractrix(R) Horn that can be swiveled to focus the sound where needed. A tweeter attenuation switch conveniently placed behind the grille provides another tool for tailoring the speaker's output to the acoustics of the environment. The KHC's white frame and rustproof, powder-coated aluminum grille can be painted to match the ceiling. Mid-sized among the in-ceiling models, the versatile, easy-to-install KHC-6 is an excellent choice for distributed-music systems and other applications requiring unobtrusive, high-quality loudspeakers. Also, while the KHC looks very different, its drivers sonically match the freestanding models in the Synergy Series line, producing the same wide dynamic, low distortion performances. Great sound, easy installation and outstanding reliability make the KHC-6 one of the best values in architectural audio.Klipsch KHC-6 In-Ceiling Loudpeakers (Pair, White) Review
Great sound for the price and size. Smooth response - no "hot spots." Vocals are rich and natural. Highs are clean but not obnoxious like some speakers with ultra hot tweeters. Bass is acceptable, given size and price. My only complaint regards installation - the ears which should turn as mounting screws are tightened frequently do not work very well - it is difficult to get them to engage correctly behind drywall. Once they do engage, the installation is fast and easy, and the installation looks good. The grills are "paintable," but it is easy to clog the openings with paint, so you have to paint with care. I had best luck using a roller that was really rolled out first, so that it was almost out of paint. Even then, I had to use a toothpick to clean out some holes while the paint was wet. To sum up - installation is not so good, but once installed, the sound is really good - better than the great majority of in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Klipsch KHC-6 In-Ceiling Loudpeakers (Pair, White)" are high quality item.
