These pickups have considerably more mass and weight than the stock Squier Jazz pickups they replaced. Only I had to take a mini-router to the bridge pickup well in order to carefully remove about 1/16 inch of material from the inside walls of the pickup well just so the new Fender pickup would fit. Then I had to apply some stain to the area so it wouldn't look like a hack job. The end result is a terrific looking install that was considerably more complicated than just soldering and some screws. But the end result is a great looking installation and this bass is a transformed Squier (by Fender) Jazz bass. The sound is improved. Not drastically but noticeably. This bass will now hold its own in any non-active bass guitar tone comparison.
