Product Description
There's no getting around it. Cymbal and tom stands have their limitations. Stands tend to creep and get in the way of one another. Not so with Gibraltar Road Series Rack Systems. Because there's actually less to transport. Four-post Road Series Rack with all curved horizontal bars wrap around the player giving ultimate placement for drums, cymbals, and mounting accessories. A great rack for single or double bass configurations.Gibraltar GCS-450C 4-Post Curved Rack Review
I bought this a few months ago and couldn't be happier with it. It is extremely easy to take down and set up and reduces my footprint considerably. Previously, I needed an area 8 1/2 feet by 7 Feet, but I can now set up in a 6x6 space. I have four Rack toms mounted on the front bar, my hi-hat on one side and my ride on the other. I also have a crash at each corner. The biggest plus is that with the use of memory locks, everything is always in the exact same place. The only con I have is that the clamps have trouble supporting the weight of a double tom holder, but if the clamp and memory lock are both tightened it does hold. I will probably invest in four single tom arms and some extra clamps in the future. Take your time and watch Gibralters set up videos for your initial set up, and get everything good and level and it will be extremely reliable. For gigging, I simply remove cymbals and toms, then disconnect the center bar leaving the two sides with legs. I put every thing in the trailer and when I get to the gig I put the center bar back in, the memory locks assure it will be exactly the same as before, then load my Toms on the arms ,and cymbals on the stands. I clamp my hi hat right to the rack with the legs folded up. Mic cables can be run along bar and down leg for a neater appearance. Gibralter sells a cord router that clips to the stand, but I just use Velcro and gaff tape. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Gibraltar GCS-450C 4-Post Curved Rack" are high quality item.
