SKB Violin 4/4 / 14 Viola Deluxe Review

I paid almost $60 for this, and given its original list price I expect a good quality product. The PVC case and interior cushion are good. The shape is nice and better than other hard cases. The aluminum rims (trims) are solid and fit well when the case is in closed/lock position, but there are little gaps between the aluminum and the PVC. Only the rims are made of aluminum. My disappointment is with the buckles, connections with the PVC handle, eyelets for shoulder strap and hinges that hold the cover to the base compartment. They are all made of low quality steel. I am not sure if it will last the wear and tear (my son carry this to school everyday). In humid weather they will rust pretty soon. There is no compartment for shoulder rest - but this is the risk you have to take when you buy a hard case. Conclusion: not worth the $ I paid for.
