This Yamaha SACD player is first rate. First off this is the heaviest CD player I have ever owned. I'm not sure why it's so heavy, but with A/V equipment that is usually a good sign. The one thing that marks this as a player worthy of you consideration is that it has balanced (XLR) outputs to your pre-amplifier. These connections are lower noise and are prety much what the enthusiast is going to look for. Another thing I noticed is that the CD tray is extremely solid. It's always bothered me how flimsy this is on so many players. This is a wear point on a CD player and this solidity makes me think that Yamaha engineers also noticed this and make it solid. Natural sound for sure here.
