Pioneer HTP-072 5.1-Channel Home Theater System Review

To begin with, I have a high end Yamaha Receiver, a "sort of" high end Marantz receiver and now this. For any apartment or even a home that just wants to be able to enjoy true surround sound and not get crazy spending money, this is great. No, it doesn't rip down walls with sheer power or have the extra HDMI ports I personally need to run ALL my devices. But it has all ANYONE needs to honestly enjoy decent sound and bring movies and music to life. If a person isn't an audiophile or sound snob, this is just fine for general use until you feel a need to move up to more features and better sound.

I instantly placed this in the master bedroom to power my old PS3 & XBOX, ROKU box and my prized Magnavox MDR533H/F7 HDD/DVD Recorder. This works just fine for those needs and allows me to use my main systems for my new (on order) XBOX One and new PS4 for after the holiday season. I like this SO much (given the price) that I have actually decided that once my now 12+ years old HUGE Polk Audio speakers bite the dust, I am going to buy a tiny compact "matched" set of speakers more in this very small (but efficient) size. This system takes up very little space, sounds fine and costs so little, that it is actually changing my mind somewhat about the need to spend a fortune on A/V equipment when like computers, advances are coming at a more rapid rate and I no longer see the need to break the bank when so much new product is coming so fast.
