Crown XTi 1002 Review

Due to a Peavey amp laying down on us during a live show I went on the mission of replacing our FOH amp. We have one of the XLS amps already running the subs so naturally I started looking at Crown. I chose the XTI 1002 based on its rated power and features. I had no idea that the amp would completely change our sound and all I could do with it. First off you can plug your laptop up to this thing and just have a ball adjusting, EQ, playing with X-overs and many of the other professional tools you have through a program called "Band Manager". I was blown away at the professional sound coming from my Yamaha C115v speakers. We hooked the FOH up at a 3ohm Stereo Load and truly it is the best those cabs have ever sounded. Clear. Authoritative. Amp is well made with clear cut features. You will have to re-wire a Speakon cable for Bridge mode on this amp. You can control the fan speeds even! From the laptop you can just about do it all. I got rid of an old EQ and noise gate due to this amp just having a lot of the same. My next amp will be another XTI when our system gets bigger. I don't think you could beat it pound for pound. What struck me instantly though is how clear the amp is. Hope this helps. Cheers!
