This is a fantastic percussion instrument. I have a 6 ft bamboo rainstick that I use in my meditation concerts. However, I have pondered many times how I can incorporate the falling rain sound while I am playing my other instruments. This design not only allows me to do so, the sound lasts much longer than a standard rainstick. The flat ends allows me to quickly turn the stick and set it down on the table and go back to my music. If I had know about this before, I would not have spent so much money searching for the perfect rainstick. Highly recommended. Sound quality is first rate.
