Product Description
Now available in either BLACK or SILVER finish... Frustrated by the lack of inputs on your minisystem or home theatre receiver? Tired of having to unplug your TV audio or MP3 player whenever you want to play or record an LP? This phono preamp is for you. Our new TC-753LC features vastly improved specs (equivalent to the much more expensive TC-754) over the previous version and adds the output level control feature which has made the TC-750LC our best selling model. Now there's no reason to choose between specs and convenience; you can have both! Again, you are purchasing the BLACK VERSION. To find the silver version, enter B004RYS35E in the Amazon search bar. Now includes our improved REGULATED AC power supply usable worldwide!TCC TC-753LC BLACK Phono Preamp w/Level Control and AUX Input Review
I think this preamp is absolutely amazing for the price and probably (and this has been said by a pro reviewer regarding the TCC-754 which is very similar) competes with all the usual go to economy preamps, NAD, etc., and also up to units costing 2 or 3 times the price. It definetely competes with or betters the Audio-Technica unit which is Stereophile recommended, which I owned prior but selling because this unit is better. It's dynamic, smooth, tonally accuarate with precise imaging. Even super high end models are not going to sound good if you're playing a bad record on it. To those that don't care for the sound: there's something wrong with your system or room acoustics. To those that have a noise or hum problem: the problem is not with the preamp but the setup, or you got a bad unit. Obviously you can't have it to close to a power amp, routing the cabling near other power cords, interconnects, etc. Amazon has a power cord upgrade with a regulated power supply for $6 which I have yet to try. It's fine to have it close to the turntable. I have an old Pioneer PL-12D with an AT95E cartridge driving a Pioneer Elite receiver and Infinity Kappa speakers with the CMMD drivers and it sounds great. If you don't know how to hook it up (meaning no instructions), it's pretty basic and almost anyone can tell you how to do it, we're not attempting to hook up a home theater here! Its almost self expanatory. Anyway I would recommend any of the current TCC models that are comparable as this one is apparently dicontinued. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "TCC TC-753LC BLACK Phono Preamp w/Level Control and AUX Input" are high quality item.
