LCRS 6.5-Inch 2-way round angled in-ceiling LCR loudspeaker.Architech Pro Series Ap-615 LCRs 6.5-Inch 2-Way Round Angled In-Ceiling LCR Loudspeaker Review
There was no review when I decided to go with these and I decided to gamble anyway.First round I bought three of these to put in my small home theater (I already had surround in ceilings to hide cables from the kids).
I am very very happy with the quality of sound these put out.
The nice thing about them is that the ceiling molding has a 15 degree angle so you can aim the speaker at the listening area.
Even if you move the couch around, you can go back and re-target your speakers without much effort. nice.
Note that these do NOT swivel. The mold is at an angle, meaning these will not have the rattling sound some of the swiveling models develop over time.
They have a twitter that does swivel to allow accurate aiming at the listening area and the swiveling mechanism consists of two platic domes which are unlikely to rattle over time.
very nice on the mechanical part.
On the sound front, these are nice as well. Definitely not high end by any stretch of the imagination but waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what you get in any home-theater-in-a-box set.
The sound is deep enough for a central speaker so that deep throaty voices (think Morgan Freeman) are delivered acurately and the sound is homogeneous through the spectrum.
These speakers are not quite large enough to deliver deep basses so count on a good woofer or two to fill the gap below 120Hz.
Once I had installed and heard them in my small home theater upstairs, I bought 7 more to do my larger one in the basement.
best money spent on audio equipment in quite a while.
hope this helps someone out there
regards
